Believe it or not, we have been in business for over 23 years! We were formerly known as Lory’s School of Dance. We are continually growing and expanding our programs and facilities to provide the community with many options for children to be involved in a clean, positive, energetic atmosphere with caring, knowledgeable instructors and staff. With a staff of over 17 instructors and office personnel, we are one big family!
Monthly tuition is paid by automatic withdrawal from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card on the 1st day of each month. This means no more check writing, waiting in line to pay for classes, or forgetting to mail a payment on time. Please refer to the Tuition and Registration Chart for more information.
Yes. For your convenience, yearly tuition is divided into equal monthly installments. The same tuition is paid monthly no matter the number of classes in a month.
No. Tuition is paid on a month-to-month basis. At the time of registration, we require authorization for automatic monthly payments from your bank account, debit card, or credit card. We do require a written notice for withdrawing from a class by the 15th of the previous month to avoid being charged for the upcoming month’s tuition or other automatic withdrawal (costumes, performance fee).
While it is best to begin classes in September (the beginning of our teaching year), students may be able to join classes partway through the year. Provided there is space available in a class, it is possible to be assessed to determine whether a student can catch up to the rest of the class. Please call (812) 963-5681 to find out more.
We encourage and welcome both male and female dancers. Dance and tumbling classes are also a wonderful supplemental activity to sports. In fact, many professional athletes are required to take dance and tumbling class as a means of increasing flexibility, agility, and prevention of injuries.
For your convenience, we carry all required dance shoes and tights at both the Evansville and Mt. Vernon locations. Please refer to the Classes page for required dance wear and shoes.
Yes. Students are invited to perform in the annual year-end Performance. Always based around a theme, Achieve Academy's professional performances are full of fun, incorporating elaborate sets, props, and themed costumes all while showing off what the students have worked so hard for throughout the season. Students will experience what it is like to be in a professional production, complete with light cues, staging, and a curtain call. Even the youngest of students will know exactly what is expected of them and are completely prepared for this environment. Please check out the Performance info page to find out more!
If you choose to participate in the Performance, there will be a Costume Fee and a Performance Fee. Visit the performance info page to learn more.
Make-up classes may be arranged through the office. Achieve Academy will try to find the most suitable class available. Refunds or credits will not be given for classes missed due to illness, sporting events, etc.
Scheduled holiday closings can be found on the Schedule page. If area schools are closed due to weather or certain holidays, this does not mean that Achieve Academy is closed. Any closing due to weather will be announced via e-mail and the school's Voice Broadcast System directed to the phone number you choose. You may also call Achieve Academy at (812) 963-5681 to find a recorded message about the closing. Refunds, credits, or make-up classes will not be given for cancellations due to holidays, weather, or events beyond the school's control.
By providing us with a current email address at registration, we can keep you up-to-date on upcoming events such as holiday closings or Performance Pictures, and special dates such as an approaching automatic withdrawal for costumes. Notices are also given through our Voice Broadcast System and are posted throughout the school. You may also check www.achieveacademyofdance.com for updated information.
Yes. As the school continues to grow by providing more class options and well-equipped facilities for its students, there are more vehicles in the parking lots. Carpooling with friends is recommended at the Evansville location. Please park in designated areas only and keep the marked paths clear for entrance and exit of the lot. Please use the provided sidewalks for the safety of the children. Allow time for pick up and drop off during the change of classes as parking spots become available at this time. For special events at the Evansville location, it is asked that families park at Cynthia Heights Elementary School, where a shuttle will be available to transport them to the studio.
Within one month of the start of classes, instructors will evaluate students and make class changes as necessary. Please remain open-minded about suggestions of alternate classes. The school wants each child to feel confident and excel in class. If you are not contacted by office staff or the instructor, your child is currently placed in the appropriate classes.
Of course! We love for parents to know what their child is learning in class. Our Mt. Vernon location has flat screen TVs to view the dance and tumbling rooms. The Evansville location has observation windows to each of the four studios and flat screen TVs in a centralized viewing area for parents to view multiple children at one time. Parents and siblings must remember that students are in class to learn and not be distracted by those standing near the observation windows.
